Kilmington Road, Barnes

47 Kilmington Road was originally a semi-detached council house, which we knocked down and replaced with a contemporary, three storey town house.

Creating a light filled, open plan kitchen and living area using Bi-fold doors to opening onto the back garden's deck makes for a wonderful space to enjoy entertaining.

A palette of neutral greys, creams and caramel was used throughout the house to add harmony and unity as you move from room to room. Texture is added with stone, such as these concrete lights over the kitchen island, or with wood and glass. From the contemporary oak and glass staircase, the floating shelves recessed in the snug and occasional pieces such as the Ercol side table.

The White Company's oversized porthole mirror, adds an interesting contrast to the linear aspects of the rest of the open plan room. It reflects the view of the garden and adds light in the recess.

Splashes of colour are added to the scheme, using the clients favourite pieces such as the bright orange Veuve Cliquot Champagne bucket.

Farrow & Ball wallpaper provides a focal point behind the kitchen coffee bar.
